Hi everyone let me introduce myself, my name is Jorge Acevedo president of Delta Sigma Omicron (DSO).
First of all I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for giving myself another opportunity to make a difference in life, God and Jesus Christ knows why things occur in life. Second thanks to Harley Howie for making this possible we are both survivors. Last all my family members, Mom, Dad LIFE GOES ON. This club is for all students at GCC. I encourage students to participate in our club and help make a difference at our college campus GCC. We are here to build support & unity among all students and cultures within our college campus. Our club will act as an educational body for all students at GCC and the public.

My disability has been a challenge to say the least. To say the most, it has brought many blessings into my life. One of the biggest blessings is my enrollment into college. I picked Glendale Community College because of the Disabled Students Center and the great people involved. The challenge of going to school at 50 is very hard let alone doing it on crutches. I know personally how hard it is to become self reliant by getting a job. The only chance some of us have to achieve this is higher education. I see it as the key to beating the odds.
The idea of cutting the budget for the DSPS infuriates me and at the same time scares me. To take away from the group that needs it the most is wrong. The Center for Students with Disabilities gives me the strength to attend my classes, the ability to get to my classes, and the support to make the most of my classes. Without the CSD I may not be here. Please show your support and stand up against the budget cuts in education. Those with the least should not pay the most.

Make a difference!
